Open Fire Ban Effective May 7, 2026

The Coastal Fire Centre will be enacting an open fire prohibition effective Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 12:00 PM for the entire Coastal Fire Centre area.

This prohibition includes:

  • Category 1 open fires
  • Category 2 open fires
  • Category 3 open fires

This means that campfires, backyard burning, burn barrels, larger open burns, and similar open fires are prohibited while the ban is in effect.

The Extension Fire Department asks all residents to follow the restrictions and help reduce wildfire risk in our community. Conditions can change quickly, and preventing human-caused wildfires is an important part of keeping our community safe.
