Free FireSmart Property Inspections Available

Wildfire risk is a growing reality on Vancouver Island, but there are proven steps homeowners can take to reduce the risk of wildfire damage to their property.

The Extension and District Volunteer Fire Department is offering FREE FireSmart Property Inspections to residents in our response area. These inspections are conducted by a trained Wildfire Mitigation Specialist, who will visit your property and provide personalized FireSmart recommendations specific to your home and surrounding landscape.

During the inspection, homeowners will receive practical, easy-to-understand guidance focused on reducing ignition risks and improving overall wildfire resilience. Small changes around your home can make a meaningful difference in the event of a wildfire.
